Safety and child protection
Draft. These standards describe what the app really does
today. They have not yet been through legal review, and the contact
addresses below are not live until the domain is set up.
Funny Friend is for adults. We treat any sign of a child using this service, or of a child being targeted through it, as the most serious thing that can happen here.
Nobody under 18
- Every account states a date of birth. Anyone under 18 has their account ended, and that verdict survives — they cannot simply try again with a different date.
- A date of birth can be set once. It cannot be edited afterwards.
- On iPhone we also ask Apple for the person's age range at sign-up. If Apple says under 18, the account ends, whatever the typed date said.
- An account ended this way stays ended, even if the person signs in again with the same Apple ID.
What we do about harmful content
- Every uploaded photo is scanned for malware and checked before it can be seen by anyone else.
- Profile text and chat messages are filtered: contact details, payment handles, slurs and swearing are blocked or hidden.
- Anyone can report or block another person from their profile or from a conversation — no match required.
- Reports are reviewed by a person, and accounts can be suspended or removed.
Child sexual abuse material
We prohibit child sexual abuse and exploitation absolutely. Any account found sharing, requesting or promoting such material is removed immediately and permanently, its content is preserved for the authorities, and it is reported to the relevant authority in the jurisdiction concerned.
Who to contact
Not published yet. The child-safety contact address is
set once the domain is live. This page cannot be considered complete —
and the app cannot be listed on Google Play — until it is.
